(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Colocation provider Equinix (www.equinix.com) will soon introduce a new set of data center services that offer enclosed data center suites for customers that are looking for larger footprints, according to a report by Data Center Knowledge.

This is certainly an interesting strategic move for Equinix, a company that has largely sold individual data center space in the form of cabinets and cages up until now.

But according to the company, the new Business Suites is intended to exist halfway between the retail and wholesale markets instead of a full-on, strategic decision to take on competing wholesale data center providers like Digital Realty, DuPont Fabros and CoreSite.
