Open source business CRM and ecommerce platform provider Oro Inc. has launched a Hosting Partner Program as it boosts the ecosystem to support the growing business to business (B2B) e-commerce market.
Oro launched its e-commerce platform earlier this year, though its CRM offering has been on the market for over four years. The company was formed and its technology developed largely by veterans of Magento, including Yoav Kutner, Oro CEO and co-founder. Oro is unique in that it is built specifically for B2B e-commerce, Oro Chief Operating Officer Motti Danino told the WHIR.
“If you want to support the complex processes of B2B, your system needs to be built and architected as such,” Danino says. “Otherwise you can’t fully serve that. You can customize applications, but it costs you a lot of money, and you don’t really get what you need. You also get a version of the product that you implemented, but it’s different, and all the maintenance and upgrades you have to do yourself, which is a headache.”
Oro is developing an ecosystem to support its CRM software and e-commerce platform with three partner programs. In addition to its Hosting Partner Program, Oro has programs for solution integrator partners and technology partners.
The Hosting Partner Program launches with five initial hosting partners, including Rackspace and Webscale in the U.S., UK-based managed hosting provider Sonassi, Germany-based root360, which specializes in ecommerce hosting solutions

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Email security software developer SpamExperts (www.spamexperts.com) announced on Thursday that Irish web hosting provider Hosting Ireland (www.hostingireland.ie) has joined its Hosting Partner Program in order to offer its customers advanced email security products.

Hosting Ireland, one of the leading providers of hosting and domains in Ireland and the UK, currently offers its customers email hosting, spam filtering and antivirus protection, to supplement its shared, dedicated and VPS web hosting solutions.

SpamExperts says the partnership will enable Hosting Ireland to offer an advanced set of security tools, including spam protection, virus and phishing protection and defense against outbound spam.

(WEB HOST INDUSTRY REVIEW) — Email security solutions provider SpamExperts (www.spamexperts.com) announced this week that web hosting provider eApps (www.eapps.com) had joined its Hosting Partner Program, in order to provide SpamExperts email security products to its customers.

According to the announcement, eApps provides its customers with cloud hosting solutions, making the addition of a cloud-based email security product an easy choice.

“We chose the in-house cluster solution Local Cloud which runs directly on our own servers,” says Richard Lingsch, president of eApps, quoted in the press release. “The benefit of the SpamExperts solution is that SpamExperts maintains the software and filter database, which reduces the amount of time we have to spend on these tasks. The solution receives real time, anti-spam information from around the globe and protects our users’ inboxes without us needing to maintain it. The time savings with this solution over running our own system are worth significantly more than the cost for outsourcing this service to SpamExperts.”
